It was divine to have a completely car-free day...

The most entertaining guy at the bar, Chet, handed me a 20-dollar bill as "gas money" and the end of the show -- most appreciated!

I happily set up camp while Dacey relaxed; this was perfectly fine with me since he did most of the driving and I snoozed quite a bit in the car...

We met up with Dacey's good old friends from high school, Tom and Chris, whom he hadn't seen in 22 years, give or take...

It was a fun gig especially because my old high school friend Doug came, along with his father Warren who had been my teacher...

We drove through Rutland, Middlebury, etc. to Vergennes, then another few miles past it to get to our "Rural Getaway" Airbnb rental...

This was our fourth summer playing at Woodland Pond, and it is the one live performance that makes Dacey a bit jittery, because his Dad is there watching...

We started off the morning with Father's Day brunch at the College Diner. Jack Dacey is 90 years old and still the boss of the table!

I peeked in on the mailbox bird nest, and am pretty sure it's a Carolina Wren. They are notorious for building in crazy places...

We left Kim's house after 2. That was dumb. It's northern Virginia, and apparently rush hour starts around 2 on Fridays...
